God don't make no Junk!

Words can't describe the horrific yet beautiful sites seen today at the landfill. We really felt led to minister to the people who call the dumb their home. We planned and prepared the best we knew how. We took bibles, spanish tracks, food, drinks, clothes and food with us. When we drove up, through the smoke, we could see the children running down the piles of garbage coming toward us. All of our hearts melted and van was silent. We let God speak through us and we fed them the word of God and much needed food! I am humbled at God's love for all of us. We all came here to help change lives...but ours have been changed!

We will finish painting the dorm today! We just bought the whole crew 35 of us icecream and it cost $5.00. Got to love it!

Keep Praying...

Joy!

If anybody is familiar with the culture and customs of Nicaragua, you will understand when I say they don't have a concept of time. I learned three years ago to just roll with it!!! Believe me... we are rolling!

Yesterday was a "get ready" day. Jay, Dan and I went to Managua for supplies. Sheri and the rest stayed at the mission to prepare for our mission projects. Alx "Squirrel" got to shop a little and was a very happy girl. La and Nataly have become our interpreters...and we would be LOST without them. Mom and Dad Nevarez thanks for loaning us your spanish speaking daughters for the week!

Last night was our first night worshiping with our Nic friends. Hearing God's word in another language is very comforting and beautiful. Life is GOOD

Today, a soccer tournament is going on at the mission. We didn't know about it till last night, so we are unprepared..but God's never is. He knew this in advance and have already made things happen that only He can do. I gave my testimony to about 150 eager soccer boys this morning...very interesting!

We have a goup painting (I was fired) and packing food bags. Jay and Dan are busy putting in sinks, toilets and showers for the two new bathrooms. Dan has a new saying "When he and Jay are working..progress is being made." I will post pics! You can see for yourself...

This afternoon we are pampering the wise saints of the area with a "Spa Day." We will show God's love by humbly washing the feet of these precious ladies. We plan to spoil them all afternoon ending with a short testimonial time given by Sheri.

Thanks for your prayers...we feel them!

Home Sweet Home!

I can't explain the feeling most of us had when we arrived here today in Masatepe! It really feels like home. The familiar faces just warms my heart. We were greeted with hugs and kisses by many. I am so very thankful God sent me here three years ago!

We look forward to what God has in store for us this week! Please pray for guidance, safety, and wisdom while we are here serving the most loving and beautiful people in the world!

I am posting pics on facebook if you want to see more of what her are doing in Masatepe!
